February 2022 is a massive month for Addigy, and we want to make sure you and your organization are ready as we add new capabilities to Addigy. The changes that follow have been available in beta for some time. Please continue to submit your feedback.
PSA: Addigy Innovate is February 22 and 23. At Innovate, we will have several sessions demonstrating the new Addigy Capabilities you see here as well as other new capabilities we've been adding. There will also be a lot of Q&A.
Here are the changes in the product and things you should be prepared for!
Catalog & OS Users
The final capabilities from the 'old' Addigy Catalog are now moving to the new Catalog. The last of these: Public Software and the ability to create OS Users are arriving very soon. When OS Users arrive in the new Catalog, you will no longer create OS Users via Policy -> Catalog -> Profiles -> User.
Users previously created via Profiles -> User are migrated to the new Catalog -> OS User section. This change will happen on Monday, February 7th.
Some items to keep in mind with this migration:
- Staged changes in Profiles -> Users are not migrated to the new Catalog -> OS Users section. If you have any pending changes in your User Profiles, we recommend you save them before Monday, Feb 7th. All saved user profiles will be migrated.
- Other payloads in your legacy profiles are not migrated over. If you are still using legacy profiles for any reason, you must move those profiles to MDM configurations.
- You will no longer be able to create nor edit any new Legacy Profiles in the old Catalog.
New Policy
On February 8th the new Policies page will replace the legacy Addigy Policies page. The Legacy Policies page will remain available until the end of February. Changes to the new Policies page are continuously being added based on the feedback Addigy has received during the beta period. There are more changes planned throughout February, including but not limited to filtering, sorting, remembering settings, and more.
Flex Policy
Flex Policies allows you to apply filters based on device criteria to Policies and have devices automatically be assigned to that policy when they meet the criteria. Flex Policy is scheduled to come out of beta near the end of Q1.
New to the Flex beta is when devices no longer meet the conditions for the Policy Filter, they can be automatically removed. The administrator controls this option.
Live Editor
Live Editor joined our beta program on Wednesday, February 2nd. You may enable it in Account -> Settings. Live Editor added syntax highlighting to all Script editors in Addigy.
MDM Profiles
MDM Profiles are changing, so you can choose to deliver only the parts of an MDM Profile you require. The Time Machine profile was the first to be updated. Coming soon is Security and Privacy. As each profile is completed, they will change in the MDM Profiles section of the Catalog. All existing profiles are automatically converted and no action is required on your part.
