In order to provide the best and most secure version of the Addigy Integration with ConnectWise Control, formally ScreenConnect, Addigy has made upgrades to our server support for ConnectWise Control and shipped those earlier this year. To finish the process we now need to upgrade the ConnectWise Control agent on Macs you have enrolled in Policies with ConnectWise Control enabled.

If you are using the Addigy ConnectWise Control (ScreenConnect) Integration for remote desktop support this upgrade will impact your managed Mac devices.

On April 13th, 2020, Addigy deployed the new ConnectWise Control agent to Addigy managed devices. The new agent connectwisecontrol-92fde59311b74250.app will be added to the "opt" directory at the root of your devices. The current agent installed in that location is screenconnect-92fde59311b74250.app. The new agent will begin deploying to each of your devices enrolled in policy that has ConnectWise Control (ScreenConnect) enabled when we ship the change.

Users in your environment running devices on macOS 10.13 or earlier will see no prompts.

Users running macOS 10.15+ will only see a native macOS prompt to approve Screen Recording at time of launch.

It will need to be enabled under the new app in Security & Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording - Enable the App. This KB includes a tutorial of that process and includes screen shots of what your user's will see. Note: Even if users previously approved ScreenConnect, they will need to now approve ConnectWise Control.

Pre-requisites:

  • Mac devices are currently enrolled in Addigy via Addigy MDM and have User Approved MDM applied (Learn more about User Approved MDM here)
  • Mac devices are currently enrolled in Addigy via the Apple Automated Device Enrollment , formally Device Enrollment Program
  • Mac devices are enrolled in Addigy with another MDM provider AND you have deployed the Addigy PPPC profile in support of ConnectWise Control Privacy Preferences the AND the enrollment profile is approved. The new PPPC profile can be downloaded below. The new PPPC profile is attached to the bottom of this KB.

If the device doesn't meet these pre-requisites, ConnectWise Controls prompt will appear on the end-users device asking them to grant accessibility along with the Screen Recording permission above.

The ConnectWise Control Prompt when pre-requisites are not met:

Users running macOS 10.14 who have the Addigy agent installed should see no macOS ScreenRecording pop ups, if the pre-requisites below are met.
