How the cols query parameter enhances the Devices page
The Devices page displays large datasets with customizable columns and now Admins have a way to link to specific column configurations easily. The new cols query parameter allows this by:
- Dynamically updating the URL whenever columns are modified.
- Allowing users to bookmark URLs with specific column settings without altering their saved views.
- Enabling link sharing for specific table views with pre-selected columns.

Example Use Case:
The System Dashboard indicates devices without FileVault enabled but doesn’t identify which ones. With cols, a link can be shared to show these devices directly in the Devices table for quick remediation.
