The MDM Profiles feature has been renamed to Device Settings in the Addigy platform. This article explains what changed and what to expect.
What Changed
The name MDM Profiles has been updated to Device Settings across the Addigy UI. This is a name change only. All functionality, workflows, and capabilities remain exactly the same for deployment of MDM Profiles. Added functionality of Declaration Objects has been released. With this change, you are now able to deploy both MDM Profiles and Declaration Objects to any device that supports them in a Policy. For more information, see Device Settings - Declaration Configuration Object Deployment
Note: To continue deploying MDM Profiles no action is required on your part. Any existing MDM Profiles saved as Device Settings are unaffected by this rename.
Why the Change?
Device Settings better reflects what the feature actually does — allowing you to configure and enforce settings on managed devices; regardless of the method of delivery of the setting (Declaration or Profile). The updated name reflects our ongoing commitment to making the Addigy platform as clear and intuitive as possible while offering both the current and future methodologies of Apple device management.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to reconfigure anything?
No. All of your existing configurations as MDM Profiles carry over automatically. Nothing about how the feature works has changed.
Where can I find Device Settings in the platform?
You can find Device Settings in the same locations where MDM Profiles or Profiles previously appeared throughout the platform.
