Prebuilt Apps are the easiest and most efficient way to manage macOS application lifecycles through Addigy, with an easy-to-search catalog of the most popular applications.
Sometimes, managing devices as a group won't sufficiently meet your needs, and software must be deployed on a one-off basis. There's no need to create a separate policy for that one installation.
Using GoLive, you can instantly deploy Prebuilt Apps titles to individual devices.
Deploying Prebuilt Apps via GoLive
- Navigate to the desired device's GoLive page via the Devices page
- Navigate to the Software > Prebuilt Apps tab to view available software
- Find the desired application and click Deploy.
Note: Only the latest version of an application can be deployed by Prebuilt Apps via GoLive. Older versions need to be deployed at the policy level. Apps deployed via Golive will not auto update- update settings will need to managed at the policy level. - Click Details to view the results of the deployment. Details will show the real-time status of the installation; after pressing deploy, it will read "Details Pending".
Once completed, the status will show Success or Error based on the output of the software's installation script, along with details of the installation script that was run.
View MDM Profiles for Prebuilt Apps
Prebuilt Apps deploys not only the application - but also installs its MDM profiles. For software titles deployed via GoLive, Addigy admins can view and remove those MDM profiles.
To view the MDM Profiles installed with a Prebuilt Apps deployment:
- Navigate to the Profiles > Installed Profiles tab on the device's GoLive page
All Prebuilt Apps Profiles will have the naming convention [Prebuilt App - App Name]. Apps deployed via GoLive will have a red trashcan icon that allows you to uninstall the Profile.
