The Addigy Agent Watchdog is deployed along with other Addigy Agent binaries to the Macs in your organization. Watchdog is a part of a system designed to minimize the CPU usage during updates and syncing. If in rare cases CPU usage gets too high, the Watchdog will prevent the process from interrupting the device's performance.
(Information on the MDM Watchdog.)
With Addigy Agent Watchdog deployed on macOS devices:
- If the Addigy Agent is using high CPU cycles, the Watchdog will collect detailed logs and restart the Agent when merited.
- If the Policier is using high CPU or has been running for an excessive amount of time, the Watchdog will collect detailed logs and restart the Policier in certain situations. For uptime-related cases, it is set to restart the Policier should it be stuck on the same deployment for 24 hours.
