Archiving a Smart Software item hides it from the Smart Software list inside your policies, helping you keep that view clean without permanently deleting anything. Archived items can be restored at any time.
How to Archive a Smart Software Item
- Navigate to Catalog > Software > Smart Software.
- Click the ... (Actions) menu next to the item you want to archive.
- Select Archive...
- Click I'm Sure to confirm.
The item will no longer appear in the Smart Software list within any policy.
How to Unarchive a Smart Software Item
- Navigate to Catalog > Software > Smart Software.
- Click the ... (Actions) menu next to the archived item.
- Select Unarchive...
- Click I'm Sure to confirm.
Note: You may need to filter or search for archived items to find them in the Catalog.

What's the difference between archiving and deleting?
Archiving hides the item from policy views but keeps it in your Catalog so it can be restored. Deleting permanently removes it.
Will archiving affect devices that already have this software installed?
No. Archiving only affects visibility in the policy Smart Software list. It does not uninstall the software from any devices it's already been deployed to.
Can I still edit an archived item?
