AppleSeed declarative settings are configuration settings that apply only to beta OS versions. Once your organization is registered for AppleSeed for IT and linked to Addigy, these settings become available as declarative payloads you can build and deploy from Catalog > Device Settings.
Before You Begin
We recommend reading Signing Up for AppleSeed for IT first. AppleSeed declarative settings will not be available in Addigy until your Apple Business Manager (ABM) instance is registered for AppleSeed for IT and linked to your Addigy MDM server.
Note: Current AppleSeed declarative settings require devices running iOS 27.0, macOS 27.0, tvOS 27.0, or later. Available setting types and keys are determined by Apple and may change between beta periods.
A Note on Beta Settings
These are beta settings, and issues may arise. If you encounter a problem, please reach out to Addigy support so we can help diagnose it. If the issue turns out to be specific to Apple's beta software rather than Addigy, an Apple Feedback will need to be submitted so Apple can investigate.
How to Identify AppleSeed Payloads in Addigy
AppleSeed declarative settings are created the same way as other configuration payloads, under Catalog > Device Settings. When viewing or creating a payload, AppleSeed settings are marked with an AppleSeed tag next to the setting type, so you can easily tell which payloads apply to beta OS versions.
In the example below, the App Settings setting type displays the AppleSeed tag, along with the minimum OS versions it requires:
When the AppleSeed tag is present, keep in mind that the payload will only apply to devices on the supported beta OS versions noted in the Requires banner.
