When troubleshooting a device, you don't have to wait for the next scheduled audit — you can manually refresh a device's data on demand from its GoLive page.
Overview
Addigy uses its agent, MDM, and Declarative Management to collect information about a device. This is available on the GoLive page of every device.
- If a device wasn't enrolled via MDM, you can only audit it using the agent — MDM and Declarative audits aren't available.
- Agent audits also run automatically every 5 minutes.
- MDM and Declarative audits also run automatically every hour.
How to Run a Manual Audit
- Navigate to the device's GoLive page.
- Select Refresh Data and choose the type of audit you want to run.
Device Information (MDM and Agent)
Collects general data about the device. Clicking Update runs both an MDM device information audit and the agent's audit, gathering and updating all agent facts in Addigy — for example, the device's name.
Security Information (MDM)
An MDM-only audit that updates security-related facts, such as:
- Activation Lock
- FileVault Keys
- Passcode status
Profile List (MDM)
Reports which MDM configuration profiles are installed on the device. This is compared against the device's policy, and any missing MDM configuration profiles are installed automatically.
Application List (MDM)
Reports which software is installed on the device. This is compared against the device's policy, and any missing apps are installed automatically.
Certificate List (MDM)
Reports which certificates are installed on the device.
Declaration Refresh (OS 26+)
Forces a check-in via Declarative Management. This mainly:
- Applies pending Device Settings sent through the Declarative channel and deployed via GoLive.
- Applies pending Prebuilt Apps deployed via GoLive that send Device Settings through the Declarative channel.
- Updates device information fetched through the Declarative channel.
Declaration Refresh only applies to devices running OS 26 and higher.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need MDM enrollment to run a manual audit?
Not for the agent audit. But Security Information, Profile List, Application List, and Certificate List audits all require the device to be enrolled via MDM.
How often do audits run automatically, without me doing anything?
Agent audits run every 5 minutes. MDM and Declarative audits run every hour.
Why don't I see the Declaration Refresh option for a device?
Declaration Refresh only applies to devices running OS 26 or higher.
