The Install MDM (+MDM) button on the Devices page lets you renew a device's MDM certificates or re-enroll it in Addigy's MDM in a single click, without needing to walk through a full re-enrollment from scratch.
Clicking Install MDM first checks whether the device already has an active MDM configuration, then does one of two things:
- If Addigy's MDM is already installed, it renews any applicable MDM certificates.
- If Addigy's MDM is not installed, it removes any existing MDM enrollment profiles and starts a fresh Addigy MDM installation, which requires the device's admin to complete enrollment.
If Addigy's MDM Is Already Installed
The button renews the device's MDM certificates automatically — no action is needed from the device's user. For details on what's being renewed, see Addigy MDM SSL Certificate Profile Signing Renewal.
If Addigy's MDM Is Not Installed
The button removes any existing MDM enrollment profiles and attempts to install Addigy's MDM. A user with admin credentials on the device must then complete this workflow:
- When the install prompt appears, click Install.
- This opens the Profiles section in System Settings. Double-click the installed profile and choose Enroll.
- Enter an admin password when prompted. Once submitted, the new push certificate is installed on the device.
Note: If the logged-in user is a standard-level user, clicking Install temporarily elevates them to admin, then demotes them back once MDM enrollment is approved.
