Policies are the core framework in Addigy for managing deployments to groups of devices. Creating one gives you a reusable container for the settings, software, and scripts you want to push to a set of machines — and lets you build that configuration once instead of repeating it device by device.
Overview
Policies can be created, configured, deployed, and deleted as your management needs change.
Note: Policies have hierarchical inheritance — most items and settings added to a parent policy trickle down to its child policies. See Understanding Policy Inheritance for details.
How to Create a Policy
- From the Policies page, click New Policy at the top of the page.
- (Optional) Set a Color and an Icon to differentiate this policy from others.
- Enter a Name for the policy.
- Choose whether this policy should be a:
- Child Policy, by selecting a Parent Policy, or
-
Parent Policy, by leaving the parent policy field unselected.
- Click Continue.
- Choose to create the policy from a template or as an empty policy. See How to Create a Policy Using a Template for more on templates. Once you choose an option, the policy is created.
