Recovery lock allows you to prevent users from accessing the recovery partition on macOS devices. There are two pre-requisites needed to be able to enable this on your macOS device.
- The device has an Apple M series chip installed (Apple Silicon)
- The device is running macOS Big Sur 11.5+
If that criteria is met, you will be able to go to the device's GoLive page and see the Recovery Lock section under the Security tab. If the criteria is not met, you will not have the Verify Password and Set Password options.
Clicking Set Password for recovery lock will bring up a screen for you to enter and then confirm the password.
Note: These passwords are not saved in Addigy and it is highly recommended you save these passwords in a known safe location.
Clicking Verify Password will bring up a screen for you to enter a password and receive a success or failure response.
