When iPhone, iPad, or tvOS devices appear offline in Addigy or do not respond to MDM-specific commands, one common cause is an issue with the Apple Push Notification (APNs) certificate (for example, if it has been revoked or expired).
Use the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve this.
How To Troubleshoot
- In Addigy, select an affected device.
- Open GoLive for that device.
- At the top, click the MDM: Enabled button.
- Click Test MDM Response.
- Review the result:
- If the test fails with an error similar to: "tls: Revoked Certificate" this indicates the APNs certificate used for that device has been revoked in the Apple Push Certificates Portal.
- If you see a different error, continue troubleshooting using other network, device, or enrollment checks.
If you do see the `tls: Revoked Certificate` error, proceed to the resolution steps to Renewing your Push Certificate in Apple's Push Certificate Portal.
If devices still appear offline or unresponsive after renewing APNs, verify that they are powered on, connected to the internet, and not restricted by firewall rules blocking APNs or MDM traffic.
