Enroll Devices via MDM
Note: The Addigy Agent will be automatically installed alongside MDM enrollment.
Before enrolling a device via MDM, you will first need to assign an Enrollment Profile to a policy or globally. This requires creating an Apple Push Certificate. Please review the following documentation before proceeding:
After configuring an MDM Enrollment Profile, navigate to the Add Devices page and start by selecting the policy you would like to enroll devices into. You must select a policy where an MDM Enrollment Profile has been configured - or, if a Global Enrollment Profile has been set up, you can select any policy (or 'No Policy').
Devices can be enrolled via MDM using any of the following methods:
- Automated Device Enrollment (Recommended Method) - Select 'Edit Settings' to configure Automated Device Enrollment.
- Manual Device Enrollment - Select 'Download Profile' to directly download the .mobileconfig file for Manual Enrollment, or select 'Copy URL' to copy the link to download. For iOS and iPadOS devices, select 'QR Code' to manually enroll by scanning a code.
- Account Driven Enrollment (macOS 14+ or iOS 15+ only) - Select 'Edit Settings' to configure Account Driven Enrollment.
- User Enrollment - BYOD (Not supported on macOS 15+ or iOS 18+) - Select 'Edit Settings' to configure User Enrollment.
Install the Agent (No MDM, macOS only)
Note: MDM can be installed after the Agent using the Install MDM button in the Actions column on the Devices page.
- Download Profile (Optional) - To avoid disrupting end users with prompts, download and install the supplied profile (.mobileconfig) on each Mac prior to agent installation.
- Run Installation Command - Select 'copy cURL command' to generate a Terminal command that will curl the download link and install the agent. This can work silently if you have an existing remote-ssh tool or remote access to the device.
Alternative Method: Install via PKG Deployment
Open the 'Alternative PKG deployment' option and download the PKG or copy the link to download. Administrator level privileges are required to run our .pkg installer. Like most applications that use a PKG, you will be guided by a small wizard walk-through to install the Addigy Agent locally.
